This guide will take you through the best shopping places in Manali, what to shop for, and how to go about this without rushing and making mistakes on what to get and at what cost.

Mall Road: The Heart of Manali Shopping

The Mall Road is the most popular shopping street amongst tourists. Equipped with showrooms, cafes and street stalls, it is the perfect environment in which to begin your retail adventure. There are also warm shawls, sweaters, caps and gloves, which are perfect in the mountain climate. Wooden handicrafts, vintage jewelry, and Himachali caps are also popular in many of the shops. The area is vibrant in the evening with lights, music and people and thus shopping in the area is quite energetic and easy. In case you like bargaining, you have a good chance of price bargaining in the Mall Road street stalls, particularly when it comes to clothing and accessories.

Old Manali Market: To Find Handmade and Bohemian Things

The atmosphere in Old Manali is totally different from that in the main town. The area is described as having a relaxed atmosphere, cafes, and small independent stores. You will find hand-woven socks, silver wear, Tibetan prayer flags, and bohemian clothing. The majority of such products are either produced by the local craftsmen or they are purchased in the adjacent villages and therefore have a specific taste. Old Manali is the right place to visit in case a traveler wants to engage in meaningful buying and not a mass-produced souvenir. The stores are smaller and the collections frequently innovative and personal.

Tibetan Market: Low-price Souvenirs and Winter Wear

The Tibetan Market is a popular shopping place among budget buyers as it is located close to Mall Road. You can get jackets, mufflers, shawls, caps, handbags and fake jewelry at affordable rates here. Winter wear is particularly popular in the market, and this is a convenient place to visit in case you need some additional layers on your trip. This is also a market where one can easily do some souvenir shopping. Gift trinkets Keychains, magnets and handcrafted trinkets are excellent little gifts that can be given to friends and family.

Manu Market: Local Products and Essentials

Manu Market is a mix of tourist goods and products consumed by the locals. And in the form of dry fruits and spices, the same market offers a more realistic picture of life in Manali, with the help of the woollen garments and the hand-made crafts. The prices here are not very high compared to Mall Road, and the assortment of local products is remarkable.

    What to Buy in Manali:

Manali boasts of local products that are indicative of Himalayan culture and art. The most famous products are woollen shawls and sweaters, homemade wooden products, dry fruits, organic honey, herbal tea, Tibetan handicrafts, prayer wheels, and spices in the city. Not only are these products valuable souvenirs, but they are a functional addition to your home.

    Shopping Tips for Visitors:

To have a good time shopping and ensure that it is not a burden, keep a couple of points in mind. Always buy what you need to, especially at Mall Road. Street markets are known to bargain, but they should do so with courtesy. You should examine the quality of items that are made of wool because there are some that are machine-crafted instead of being handcrafted. When purchasing food products, make sure that they are packed well to be carried. Shopping on a relaxing day is what you should plan when you are travelling in the area with a Delhi to Kullu Manali package, not to be caught up at the last moment and enjoy your time in the area.
