Sissu is one of the most beautiful off-beat places in Himachal. Located right at the beginning of Lahaul, only 40 km from Manali on the Manali-Leh highway, Sissu works as a gateway to the three famous regions of the Indian Himalayas- Ladakh, Spiti, and Lahaul.

  At an altitude of about 3200 m, and only 6 km away from the North end of the recently opened Atal Tunnel, Sissu attracts tourists all year long.

Sissu, known as Khwaling, is a picturesque village. Sissu is also known for its rustic charm and all-around sun-kissed Himalayan mountain range. The tiny Himalayan hamlet poses with magnificent glaciers all around and gives travelers a glimpse of the traditional. It draws many visitors owing to the breathtaking view of the waterfall, locally called Palden Lhamo dhar.

The village is surrounded by snow-capped mountains, glacial rivers, waterfalls, and roads lined with willow and poplar trees. Sissu is known for its various nature trails with stunning views over mountains and river valleys, fishing trips, trekking, camping, rock climbing, and star hazing.
