Day-01: Chandigarh — Shimla
After arrival, drive from Chandigarh to Shimla via Parwanoo, Solan. On reaching Shimla, check in to the Hotel. The evening you are free to visit Mall Road. After this return to your hotel for a delicious dinner and overnight stay.
Day-02: Shimla — Sangla Valley
After breakfast at your hotel, we will visit the famous Temple of Bhimakali at Sarahan. This is the same temple in which human sacrifices were made about two centuries ago. After visiting the temple we will continue driving to Sangla (4-5 hrs.). Where you will check-in at your hotel or could also choose to stay in fixed luxury tented accommodation. After lunch, you will be taken on a walk through Kamru and Sangla Villages ( 1-2 hrs.) and we will visit the beautifully carved old temples and Buddhist Monasteries. You will have plenty of opportunities to speak to the local people in these valleys. The Sangla valley is also known as the Baspa Sangla valley, after the River Baspa which flows through the valley and it is part of Kinnaur valley. Overnight in a hotel in Sangla.
Day-03: Sangla — Chitkul — Sangla Valley
After breakfast, explore the ancient Kamru Fort and Temple which is dedicated to the Goddess Kamakhya Devi which was brought from Assam. After lunch, leave for an excursion to Chitkul, the last Village on an old Indo-Tibetan trade route. Walk through the green orchards and enjoy the serenity as a brilliant stream passes by. As the day ends, return to the hotel in Sangla for dinner and a comfortable overnight stay
Day-04: Sangla — Kalpa-(2,758 Meters/9,048 Feet)
After breakfast, this morning, check out from your hotel and drive to Kalpa. 2670 meters above sea level, Kalpa is the district headquarter of Kinnaur and was once the favorite getaway of Lord Dalhousie. On reaching Kalpa, check in to the hotel. Once known as Chini, little has changed in Kalpa in the last 500 years. Legend has it that when Lord Dalhousie wanted to take a break from his hectic schedule in Shimla, he would come here on his Horseback. By the side of Kalpa is a 79 feet high rock formation that resembles a Shivling that changes its color as the day passes. After lunch, rest in your hotel for a while. In the evening, visit the Buddhist Gompa, Hu Bu Lan Kar. Return to the hotel for dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.
Day-05: Kalpa — Nako — Tabo
After Breakfast visit Tabo by Visiting Nako Lake. Tabo, One of the most important gompas, not just in Spiti but in the whole of the Tibetan Buddhist world. There is also’s modern gompa and painting school founded by the Dalai Lama. Even Today Tabo holds the distinction of being the largest monastic complex in Spiti, constructed in 996 AD. En route Dankar Gompa. O/N Tabo.
Day-06: Tabo — Kaza -(3,200 Meters/10,500 Feet)
After breakfast, we will visit the Tabo monastery which is the oldest monastery in the Himalayas. Later we will drive you to Kaza (3 hrs.) En route, we will visit the Dankar Village and Dankar Monastery and Fort. Here we will have a cup of tea or lunch with a local family. Later on, we continue our drive to Kaza where you will check-in at your hotel. The evening is free to explore in the Kaza Market.
Day-07: Kaza — Local-Sightseeing
Today after breakfast we will be driven to the Village of Laguna. Here there is an opportunity to walk around the village. You may wish to Visit the Monastery at the top of the village and on the way look out for fossils. Here you can also see the yak working in the fields or yak grazing in the pastures. If weather permits there is an option to drive on to Hikkim, and the Comic Village, which is now the world’s highest village (4,450 meters) joined to a motorable road. Later we will continue our drive to Kee Monastery and the Village of Kibber. Once Kibber (at 4,200 meters) was considered the world’s highest village. There is also the option to walk to the nearby mountains where there are big herds of Himalayan blue sheep and snow ibex gather in the evening. Lunch will be at Kibber Village, in a local restaurant, where you will be offered a choice of delicious Tibetan Dishes. In the evening we will return to Kaza for a second night at the hotel.
Day-08: Kaza — Chandratal-Lake
The morning after breakfast leave for Chandratal Lake by crossing Kunzum Pass(15,100ft) to Baltal, change a vehicle to Sumo to proceed to Chandratal lake. On the way there is a magnificent view of CB Ranges Peaks. This Deep Blue Water Has A Circumference Of 2.5 Kms. This Is The Source Of The River Chandra According To Some Believers, This Is The Spot From Where The God Indra’s Chariot Took The Eldest Pandava Brother Yudhisthira To Swarga To Heaven In His Mortal Form. Full day at Leisure to enjoy the beauty of beautiful lakes and natural surrounding Snow peaks. O/N Camping at Chandratal Lake.
Day-09: Chandertal — Manali (2,050 Meters/6,726 Feet)
Today we will make an early start ( 06: 30 A.M) as it is the longest day journey driving to Manali (4-5 hrs.). On the way, we will stop for breakfast at Chandratal lake Camp, and then for lunch at Any hotel. Today we will cross two high mountain passes, one of which is the highest point on the whole journey (Kunzum Pass, 4,558 meters / 14,950 feet), and also visit the temple on the pass where travelers say prayers before heading down the pass. The Kunzum Pass provides beautiful views of CB ranges and Glaciers. Later on, we will continue our journey over the Rohtang pass (3,980 meters / 13058 feet) and enter Kullu valley. We will reach Manali in the evening and check-in at the hotel.
Day-10: Manali — Chandigarh
Today morning, I drove to Chandigarh. Drop-in Chandigarh. End memorable tour and services.
