Often referred to as the 'mini-Switzerland of India',  Khajjiar is a town situated in the Chamba district. Khajjiar is 24 km away from Dalhousie. The vast stretches of dense forests and green meadows constitute the natural beauty of Khajjiar. And the pleasant climate amplifies the effect. This places is also known for its nine-hole golf course which is nestled amid lush greenery and a breathtaking landscape. Khajjiar is famous for the popular Khajji Naga shrine dedicated to the serpent god from which the name is believed to have been derived. The comparison came into his mind due to the striking topographical resemblance of the place with Switzerland.
